Emergency notice: 5k run against violence on Apr. 30th CANCELLED

From Karen Kuipers:

Please help us get the word out. The “Run Against Violence” will NOT be held this weekend (Saturday April 30th). Due to several challenges that have recently developed, it has been determined that the cause will be best served if the race is postponed until September.

Prize sponsors and those who have pre-registered will be contacted via the contact info given on their registration forms, and their donations or registration fees will be returned. Participants & sponsors may also opt to have their donations applied to support the rescheduled race, which will have details finalized by the end of May.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and appreciate the continued support of community efforts to raise awareness & provide advocacy for victims of domestic violence & sexual assault. The Tooele County Domestic Violence Coalition is looking forward to seeing everybody at the September event. You can get updates at http://www.runagainstviolence.blogspot.com

For those who are excited to run this weekend, there is another local 5K race available to support. The “2011 Stansbury Stride 5K Run” sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 1816 (based in Stansbury Park) is holding a run that starts Saturday, April 30th at 8:30am. For more information on the Stansbury Stride, contact: troop1816@gmail.com

Thanks to everyone who signed up to volunteer or participate; we’ll stay on this for the reboot in September.
